Are you interested in sustainable cities? If so Spain’s Soria CO2Zero Corridor project (LIFE09 ENV/ES/000437) is interested in hearing from you. The project is organising an international symposium in Soria from May 24-25. This event is aimed at exchanging best EU practices between urban areas working on reducing their carbon footprint.
Solutions to the challenges posed by CO2 reduction will be discussed in a series of round table sessions. These will feature reviews of the actions already under way through the Soria CO2Zero Corridor project to integrate sustainability cultures within urban management.
Topics in the symposium’s spotlight will cover:
Participants invited to the symposium include: technical staff and political representatives from local and urban authorities; researchers and academics in the sustainable city sector; NGOs pursuing urban and/or environmental agendas; private companies providing green technologies and services; as well as any other interested parties in sustainable city culture.
Interpretation services may be provided during the event in English and Spanish (depending of number of attendants). A full programme and registration details will soon be available on the project website and earlier enquiries can be made to Miguel Angel Gracia at PPA Consultores (communication team for Soria City Council).

A UK LIFE Information Day will be held on Tuesday 29 May 2012; the venue will be Europe House, 32 Smith Square, London, SW1P 3EU.
Provisional plans for the day include presentations from Stefan Welin, Technical Desk Officer at the EU LIFE Unit, Catherine Holt from BETA Technology and previous project funding recipients.
