Natur- und Umweltschutz-Akademie des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen (NUA), 2008 – 122 pages.
This publication compiles the contributions to a conference on the LIFE Nature project Regeneration of the Großes Torfmoor (LIFE03 NAT/D/000004), organised by the NUA in cooperation with the Ministry of the Environment and Conservation of the German State of North Rhine-Westphalia. The articles highlight not only the achievements of this project, but also those of the LIFE projects Korenburgerveen (LIFE00 NAT/NL/007049), Bargerveen (LIFE04 NAT/NL/000206), SPA bogs in the Western Münsterland (LIFE98 NAT/D/005100), Düsterdiek (LIFE00 NAT/D/007042) and the Western Dümmer fen area (LIFE02 NAT/D/008456). In addition, a good overview on bog restoration and regeneration measures are given.

The current publication provides an overview of the information on and practical experiences in the management and restoration of the Boreal Baltic coastal meadow habitat type gathered in the course of the LIFE Nature project Boreal Baltic Coastal Meadow Preservation in Estonia (LIFE00 NAT/EE/007083).
The authors have made an attempt to select the best from years of learning, personal experiences and practice that might be of assistance for people interested in coastal grassland management in the Baltic Sea region, and maybe even further.

This publication aims to provide an overview of the achievements of the LIFE project Coastal Meadows and Wetlands in the Öland Agricultural Landscape (LIFE00 NAT/S/007117). Results mentioned include landowners/farmers and the general public appreciating the measures accomplished, birdlife benefitting in many areas, increasing in numbers and diversity. Benefits for the flora are also expected but it will probably be some years before those results become visible on the ground.
