This page provides a selection of coast, sea & fisheries-related publications that are of particular relevance to the LIFE programme and have been published by project beneficiaries.
Consellería de Medio Ambiente, Agua, Urbanismo y Vivienda. Generalitat Valenciana, 2009.
This report presents the management of the Audouin’s Gull (Larus audouinii) in the Iberian Peninsula, specifically in East Spain (Valencian Region), carried out by two LIFE projects, Conservation of Larus audouinii in Spain: Catalonia (LIFE02 NAT/E/008612) and Conservation of Audouin's gull in the Valencian Community (LIFE02 NAT/E/008608) between 1999 and 2008.
Centre for the Coastal Environment, Isle of Wight Council, September 2006.
The 'Good Practice Guide' developed as part of the EU LIFE Environment 'Response' project (LIFE03 ENV/UK/000611) contains advice on sustainable coastal risk management and examples from around Europe and the world of how the growing impact of natural hazards on coastal communities can be addressed and reduced.
Centre for the Coastal Environment, Isle of Wight Council, September 2006.
This 'Training Pack' of the LIFE 'Response' project (LIFE03 ENV/UK/000611) on coastal evolution and risk mapping guides the reader through the process of producing maps that show the future pattern of coastal evolution and risks across a region (or sediment cell), which take account of the impacts of climate change. These maps can provide an understanding of the pattern and scale of coastal change and the future of natural coastal risks and hazards. The maps can be prepared and used by coastal managers, local/regional authority officers, engineers, practitioners and planners to contribute towards e.g. the identification of future requirements for coastal protection measures or showing locations where managed retreat may be necessary. The final maps in the sequence can also be used by decision-makers and politicians to understand and communicate the pattern and severity of current and future coastal risks, and assist in targeting resources effectively.

The following publications have been produced by the "Conservation of Cory's shearwater on the Hyères islands" LIFE project (LIFE03 NAT/F/000105).
Cahier technique pour la conservation des oiseaux marins sur les îles d'Hyères
2007, 52p.
The cahier technique is a document that includes all the necessary information for the management of the reproduction sites of the Hyères island seabirds, such as Cory's shearwater (Calonectris diomedea diomedea) and Yelkouan Shearwater (Puffinus yelkouan). This bilan has also been produced to distinguish the priority actions from those that are less important.
